SAVE A DATE FOR THE 2025 CONFERENCE!

Planning for our 2025 conference is firmly underway.

We are so grateful to God for our team of committed, enthusiastic women who serve on our Committee.

In 2024, God grew the Conference into 2 locations (Kenilworth and Somerset West).  Tickets sold out quickly and both Conference locations were fully booked a month in advance!

We're excited to offer the same this year.

SAME CONFERENCE - 2 DATES - 2 LOCATIONS.

Please join us in praying for the 2025 Conference as planning continues.  We can do nothing without our awesome God, in whose name we serve.

"Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labour in vain." - Psalm 127

Please pray that God would use the 2025 Conference to draw women to Him.  Pray that we would all know Him better and love Him more as a result of our time together at the Conference enjoying:

  • Vibrant praise and worship
  • Solid bible teaching
  • A time of connection with women from all across Cape Town

Please keep your eyes on our website and social media pages for regular updates.

Please also start praying about who you can invite to join you at the Conference this year.  Bookings open on our partner booking site, Quicket, from 1st June.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. - Ephesians 1: 3

We hope to see you there!

1 Thessalonians reminded us that the best is yet to come!

For the past two Saturdays (17th and 24th August) the REACH WOMEN Conference 2024 took place!  It was hosted at two different locations - Christ Church Somerset West (CCSW) and St James Church, Kenilworth.

When the Conference was bursting at the seams last year, with 950 women booked and many, many more wanting tickets, it was time to multiply!

One Conference - Two Dates - Two Locations

So this year, the Conference Committee approached CCSW to host a second Conference on their campus.

We witnessed with humility God growing this event before our eyes, as both venues sold out almost a month before the 2024 dates.  Even more women were wanting tickets than capacity allowed.

The best is yet to come!

Alison Eloff was the speaker teaching from the book of 1 Thessalonians. The theme was READY AND WAITING. Alison encouraged us to think through how we trust Jesus day-by-day while waiting for his return.  She reminded us, from God's word, that the best is yet to come!

There were (almost) all-women music teams, bringing together women from REACH churches across Cape Town leading us in vibrant praise and worship in both sessions.

Click here to watch the women at Conference #1 singing ON THAT DAY, the theme song for the Conference.

In addition to the two Bible talks, there was an interview with Ikho Poswayo, a lecturer at GWC. Sandy Lyons chatted to Ikho who shared her experience of navigating intense grief through the lens of the gospel. It was incredibly powerful as the women were able to connect the dots between the teaching from 1 Thessalonians and Ikho’s experience.

There was also a beautiful song item by the music team.

Click here to watch a time-lapse video highlighting the range of women attending, of all ages, stages and walks of life.

Thanks to our amazing teams

We want to thank the range of wonderful women from different churches who helped with music, welcoming, ushering, serving tea and coffee and keeping an eye on the toilets.

Both Saturdays were very cold days, so the women were keen for their hot drinks at the refreshment break. It's not a small task serving hot drinks to almost 400 women at CCSW and then 980 women at St James.  This all within 20 minutes, so that there’s still time to chat and browse the CBD bookshop.  The teams at both venues managed it with grace.

The only men on the campuses were our wonderful parking and sound teams.  The St James music director, Jason, also assisted on stage at Conference #2.

Prayer and gratitude

We are so grateful to God for how this event has multiplied.

Please join us in praying that God would continue to use this Conference to REACH WOMEN for His kingdom and His glory.

With love in Christ

Hayley and the REACH WOMEN Conference Committee

All systems go!

With only a week to go until our first REACH WOMEN Conference of 2024, it's all systems go!

Our Somerset West music team is hard at work practising this morning.

Each REACH WOMEN Conference location has a different set of musicians.  These women have been brought together from various local REACH churches to use their God-given gifts to serve by leading the music.

Vibrant Praise and Worship is a vital part of the Conference with much thought and prayer going into choosing songs that serve the preaching of God's word and point us all to Christ and the gospel.

"Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts." - Colossians 3: 16

We are looking forward to an amazing time of praise and worship at both locations.

The first Conference in Somerset West is sold out!

2024 is proving to be a big year for the REACH WOMEN Conference.

Since its inception, the Conference has been hosted at St James Church in Kenilworth.

However, last year the Conference was flooded with bookings and “burst its banks” selling out all 900+ tickets with many women left stranded.

A time to grow!

After much prayer and consideration the REACH WOMEN Committee decided to open a second venue for the Conference from this year.

The second venue that was chosen for both its size and location was Christ Church Somerset West.

So, on Saturday 17th August the first of two REACH WOMEN Conferences will be hosted there.

  • Same Conference - Two Dates - Two Locations

Incredibly, last weekend with 4 weeks still to go, the tickets were sold out for the Somerset West venue!

What’s more incredible, is that the way tickets continue to sell, it looks likely that the Conference will REACH 1,300+ women across both venues this year. These women will come from churches right across greater Cape Town.  These are women of all ages, stages and walks of life.

Exciting times!

These are very exciting times as we witness God growing this Conference for His kingdom and glory!

Please join us in praying:

  • For the women that will attend - that the Holy Spirit would do His work of challenge, conviction and comforting, as God’s Word is preached.

  • For Alison Eloff - our speaker at both venues - as she prepares her talks from 1 Thessalonians entitled “Ready and Waiting”.

  • For the Conference Committee, chaired by Hayley Tubman, as this team plan the final details.

  • For all the volunteers assisting with various elements at both venues. That they would be encouraged as they serve.

"We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers." – 1 Thessalonians 1: 2

Get ready to join us - but don't wait to book!

Our theme for the 2024 REACH WOMEN Conference is READY AND WAITING!

We're so excited to be exploring passages from 1 Thessalonians with our speaker, Alison Eloff.

The Bible has a lot to say about being ready as we wait for Jesus's return.

But waiting can be hard!  How do we stay focussed on our Kingdom mission while we wait?  How do we remain steadfast ambassadors for Christ, when the world is pulling us in so many different directions? How do we not lose heart and give up?

Come and join us for a morning of solid Bible teaching, vibrant praise and worship and stories of grace as we hear from God in His Word about what it means to be READY AND WAITING!

Get ready to join us - but don't wait to book!

This is a big year for the REACH WOMEN Conference as we have added a second venue.

SAME CONFERENCE - TWO DATES - TWO LOCATIONS

We are keen to REACH as many WOMEN as we can with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Tickets are selling fast ... please don't delay in booking!  We are limited to 350 tickets at the first location (Christ Church Somerset West) and 950 tickets at the second location (St James, Kenilworth).

Do you have questions?

If you have any questions, please have a look at our website.  We've tried to answer as many of the frequently asked questions about the Conference HERE.

Get ready, wait and pray!

Invite your friends to the REACH WOMEN Conference, book your tickets and then countdown the days.  And while you wait, PRAY ...

... pray that God would use this Conference for His Kingdom and glory.

Ready to go ... waiting to grow!

The Reach Women Conference 2024 is just around the corner.  Preparation is well under way, and we are excited about what lies ahead for the Conference this year.

Year after year the Conference has reached women across our city with solid bible teaching that is relevant for our time. This year will be no different. Every woman who comes will be fed from God’s Word, encouraged through vibrant praise and worship, and spurred on by fellowship with other women.

Get ready to grow!

One of the highlights this year is that we are MULTIPLYING!  That’s right – our Conference is growing!

We are so excited to be launching the Conference at a second venue. This is the plan:  on Saturday, 17th August the Conference will be hosted at Christ Church, Somerset West, and on Saturday, 24th August, it will be hosted at St. James Church, Kenilworth.

Same Conference - two dates - two locations

You get to pick the date and the location that is best for you.  If you are a real "keen bean", you are welcome to join us at both.

A God-given opportunity

Last year, we reached capacity a month before the Conference date.  This meant that we had to turn women away.  Adding a second location means that this year no one needs to miss out.  We can REACH more WOMEN!

And if you have never been to a Reach Women Conference before, come and join us – we’ve made sure there’s plenty of room!

We want to see you there, so, pick a date and put it in your diary now.  Tell your friends and family and let’s get ready to grow!

Please also pray for us as we plan, that God will use the growing Conference for His glory and the extension of His kingdom.

Ready and waiting for more info

While you're ready and waiting, follow us on INSTAGRAM and FACEBOOK, and keep an eye on our website where more details will appear in the coming weeks.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our two locations for the Reach Women Conference 2024!

The joy of being together!

The REACH WOMEN Conference 2023 took place this past Saturday in Cape Town.

950+ women arrived at St James Church for an incredible morning of solid Bible teaching, amazing praise and worship and wonderful connection.

God provided us with a beautiful, sunny day. As the women arrived, there was a coffee truck to greet them, for those that needed an early morning caffeine fix.

On entering the foyer, there was a warm welcome from our team of ushers. Besides offering their beautiful smiles, the ushers checked tickets and handed out bottles of water, brownies and beautiful bracelets.

For women, by women

The bracelets were made by a ministry called BESIDE YOU. This ministry seeks to build up women economically and spiritually, and is run by a team from CROSS CENTRAL CHURCH in Parow.

More info here - https://christchurchtygerberg.org.za/ministries/partnerships/cross-central-church.html

The chocolate brownies from Khayelitsha Cookies were utterly delicious (https://kcco.co.za). Khayelitsha Cookies is a local bakery, supporting women and run by women.

Did we REACH WOMEN from across Cape Town?

The week before the conference, we asked our delegates to tell us where they were coming from. How encouraging to learn that women were coming from all across Cape Town to join us!

From Fish Hoek to Franschhoek; Bantry Bay to Betty's Bay; Wetton to Wellington; Kuilsriver to Constantia; Tokai to Tableview; Somerset West to Sunset Beach. Just amazing!

Here's a word cloud image of the responses:

Living by faith in a broken world

Our first session started with a wonderful time of praise and worship. Hearing 950+ women singing on the tops of their voices has to be one of the highlights of the conference. It's hard to describe how incredibly emotionally evocative that experience is!

We then heard the first talk from Habakkuk chapters 1 and 2, from our conference speaker, Jo Taylor.

Our second session included a beautiful SPOKEN WORD POEM by the talented Unati Manyela who attends Hope Community Church in Pinelands. Unati wrote the poem for the conference, in response to the teaching from the Bible talks.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4dURHuxEKk

The second talk focussed on Habakkuk 3, his response to God. It was so challenging to experience how Habakkuk ended by rejoicing in song, at who God is.

We ended the conference with an interview with Sandy Lyons. Sandy shared some of her own struggles and how she had also cried out to God in a time of intense difficulty. She spoke about how she had lost the song in her heart.

It was encouraging to hear how her relationship with God had grown through her suffering. Not only had the song in her heart returned, but she is now able to rejoice in how God was at work in that season.

The hymn of heaven

We ended the conference by singing THE HYMN OF HEAVEN with great joy!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_baJyIQp_w

Please pray with us!

We are so grateful to God for the opportunity to REACH WOMEN as He spoke to us all through His word on Saturday.

Please join us in praying that the seeds that were sown and watered at the conference will bear much fruit for His kingdom in the weeks and months ahead.

A sneak peak behind-the-scenes

With only a month left until the REACH WOMEN Conference, preparations are well underway.

Our wonderful RWC Committee is hard at work with their respective teams to make all the necessary preparations.

We are hoping to welcome the maximum capacity of 900 women to the Conference, which will be hosted at St James Church, Kenilworth on Saturday 19th August.

Getting the campus ready to receive and host this volume of people requires detailed thought and planning.

Getting the facilities ready

Jean Machill is overseeing the logistics for the Conference.  She is making sure that the facilities are ready and that the logistics side of things runs smoothly.

For example, in addition to making sure that there is plenty of complementary tea / coffee on offer for our Conference delegates during the tea-break, Jean has also organised external COFFEE TRUCKS for the morning.

These COFFEE TRUCKS will be around from arrival at the Conference and throughout the morning.  This means that, should you want to, you’ll be able to pick up a cappuccino (or whatever you choose) when you arrive or during the morning (at your own expense).

Tea / filter coffee will also be served inside the Conference venue during the morning refreshment break, in various refreshment areas. This tea / coffee is included in your ticket price.

We hope that these additional efforts will make the Conference even more welcoming and comfortable.

Delicious chocolate brownies

Charissa Hey, another RWC Committee member is liaising with the wonderful KHAYELITSHA COOKIES bakery (https://kcco.co.za). They are supplying us with a chocolate brownie each, to enjoy during our refreshment break.

Just a reminder that we are unable to cater for people with dietary requirements this year, so if you have a special dietary requirement (like gluten-free or vegan etc.), please bring along your own snack/s to enjoy during the refreshment break.

A team of volunteers to direct the traffic

Glynda Hermann who is also part of the RWC Committee is co-ordinating a team of ushers to help on the day. This team is vital to making sure that our Conference delegates receive a warm welcome and that their tickets are checked and received.

The joy of music

We’re also grateful to our team of MUSICIANS who will be leading us in singing on the day.  They are already preparing behind-the-scenes to serve us in this way.

We’re looking forward to learning a this song with them, which fits in beautifully with the theme of the Conference.

What to expect at the 2023 conference?

The REACH WOMEN Conference is an annual Conference for women that takes place in Cape Town, South Africa.

The Conference seeks to REACH WOMEN with the gospel of Jesus Christ - the focus is solid Bible teaching, vibrant praise and worship and connection with other women and their stories of grace.

How long, O Lord?

Do you ever find yourself despairing at the state of the world? Life around us seems so broken, both on macro and micro levels.

We see corruption, greed and injustice in our government and social systems. But, we also see mess and brokenness in our homes and relationships.

Our world is crying out for answers!  It's easy to find ourselves asking where God is in it all?

Seeking answers from the book of Habakkuk

Habakkuk is a book of the Bible that asks that exact question - “How long, O Lord?”

At the REACH WOMEN Conference this year, come expecting to hear from God in His Word, as we explore His answer to that cry.

Watch this little video to find out more about what to expect:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TULGgBr6Ae4

Conference speaker

Our speaker this year is Jo Taylor. Jo studied theology at George Whitfield Bible College, obtaining a BTh and joining the team at St Stephen's Bible Church in Claremont.

Jo is passionate about teaching the Bible and we're excited to have her as our 2023 Conference speaker.

What does the R60 ticket price include?

If you're been following our advertising campaign since we launched earlier this year, you'll hopefully have picked up that the 2023 Conference is a bit different.

In an attempt to keep the ticket price as low as possible, we've gone "back to basics".

We hope you'll agree that R60 is a bargain price for a full morning Conference!

So, there isn't going to be a goodie bag like in previous years, with a packed lunch etc. However, we are supplying the following:

Our delicious brownie is being supplied by the amazing team at Khayelitsha Cookies.

You can read more about this wonderful, women-run business here - https://kcco.co.za

We hope to see you at the Conference this year!

Please don't delay in booking. Seats are limited and selling fast ...

8 weeks to go ...

Excitement is mounting! The REACH WOMEN Conference is only 8 weeks away. It's taking place on Saturday 19th August at St James Church in Kenilworth, Cape Town.

The conference has a long and beautiful history. Behind it all, is the desire to create an inspirational platform for women to sing together, for women to teach the Bible to women, for women to hear stories of how God is at work in women's lives, and for women to connect with women.

This year, that desire hasn't changed! We're looking forward to a wonderful morning of praise and worship, hearing from God in His word and sharing stories and connection.

Some things change, some stay the same!

There are some changes to the 2023 conference. The changes are happening behind-the-scenes, particularly with regards to the "scaffolding" that supports the conference.

These changes are being made thoughtfully, with the conference's longevity and sustainability in mind.

Basically, there's a lot that goes on behind-the-scenes to make this conference happen. The RWC Committee wants to make sure that we can keep the conference going for as many years as God allows.

A TICKET through QUICKET

If you've tried to book a ticket, you'll notice that our bookings are now handled by a partner website, QUICKET.

QUICKET does bookings like this for a living! Unlike us, it's their core business and they do it really well. We're thrilled to be partnering with them.

If you're feeling a bit daunted about booking through them, here's a little "virtual tour" to put your mind at ease:

Do you have questions about what to expect this year?

We've tried to answer as many questions as we could think of on our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section of the website.

Please head there and a have a read through. Hopefully it'll give you a really clear idea of what's changed and what's stayed the same.

Please join us in prayer!

Please pray especially that God's name would be exalted in all that we do. We want His kingdom's growth and glory to be at the heart of the conference.

Join us in praying that God would use the REACH WOMEN Conference to REACH WOMEN with the hope of the gospel, as our hearts cry out in these days, "How long, O Lord?".
